Social media has become an integral part of the buying process for consumers. Sixty percent of respondents from a recent survey said a blog review or social media post influenced an in-store buying decision. In other words, online research plays a factor even when shopping offline. Brands want to be in this mix, so engaging with social media influencers has become an industry in itself. Hear two local influencers who have large followings and the leader of a local media buying agency talk about what they look for when partnering with brands to build more reach and influence decisions through social media.

Erin Fairchild Her Heartland Soul
Erin is as a senior digital marketing specialist at TD Ameritrade. In 2011, she started blogging, and soon it evolved into the popular lifestyle blog Her Heartland Soul. More than 35,000 unique people visit her blog each month, logging more than 88,000 page views. She has 46,000 followers on Instagram, 5,000 followers on Facebook, 18,000 followers on Twitter, and 5,500 followers on Pinterest. Her Heartland Soul focuses on food, fashion, travel, fitness and everyday living.

Sarah Stewart Life on Virginia Street
Sarah is a former insurance executive and a current full-time blogger. She started blogging in 2008 to update her day-to-day happenings and home updates with her out-of-state family. In December 2012, she launched Life on Virginia Street with a focus on home décor and DIY projects as she and her husband began the process of updating their new-to-them home. She has more than 156,000 page views and 68,000 unique visitors on her blog each month, plus 113,000 followers on Instagram, 48,000 followers on Pinterest, 24,000 followers on Facebook, and 2,000 followers on Twitter.
