How has a 101-year-old organization remained relevant for generations? By respectfully embracing their past and joyfully preparing for the future, the Junior League of Omaha has accomplished no easy task: they've been growing and thriving. Despite naysayers who claim that people don't want to volunteer, or join organizations, or donate money, the Junior League is defying it all. Learn the secrets behind their growth and how they've cultivated an enthusiastic, optimistic, action-oriented group of more than 800 women in Omaha who are ready to take on the Junior League's next 100 years and change our community for the better. If your organization is struggling with growth, or if a group you volunteer with is struggling to gain more city-wide support, this is the presentation for you.

    Presenter:

    Katie Triplett

    President

    Junior League of Omaha

Katie Triplett, MSN, APRN-BC, received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska. She is a Nurse Practitioner and the Senior Manager of Risk Management and Regulatory Standards for Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. In her tenure at Methodist, she has facilitated the development and opening of a protocol-driven chest pain unit in 2014 and led the organization their first-ever Chest Pain Center accreditation in 2015. Katie is now responsible for developing and administering a healthcare environment incorporating high-quality, low-cost care and processes to optimize patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Katie is actively involved in the Omaha community, volunteering her time and talents to organizations and causes that advance the holistic wellness of Omaha’s population through promoting art and culture, offering mentoring and growth opportunities, and developing the leadership potential of women and girls.  She has served as president of Friends of Nebraska Children, Ten Outstanding Young Omahans director, corresponding secretary for the Rose Children's Theater Guild, and various leadership roles for the Joslyn Art Museum's Young Arts Patrons. She also supports the Girls Scouts Spirit of Nebraska and the Boys and Girls Club Guild. Katie received the Midland Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 award in 2016, The Junior League of Omaha’s Woman to Watch award in 2017, and the Omaha Jaycees' Ten Outstanding Young Omahans award in 2018.

Currently, Katie is serving the first year of her two-year presidency in The Junior League of Omaha. She has been a Junior League member for 12 years and has had many experiences volunteering within fundraising, communications, membership development, and the Board. She was the organization's first executive vice president and has led Board-appointed special committees on membership experience, governance documents, and strategic planning.

In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, supporting local artists, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.  She lives with her husband, Adam, son, Thomas (4.5), and daughter Vivian (16 mos) in Omaha."
